The difference - Our Custom Cabinets and Countertops vs our Competitors
The Difference
When comparing cabinet quotes, most people assume they’re getting the same product — just at different prices.
They’re not.
What you don’t see behind the doors, under the cabinets, or inside the construction is what determines whether your cabinets last 2 years… or 20.
At D.R. Sales Woodworking, we don’t cut corners — we build cabinets the way they should be built.
Built Solid From the Back Forward
Most cabinets are built using thin 1/8" backs with a small strip to fasten them to the wall. This saves money — but often leads to cabinets that are weak and prone to sagging.

We build every cabinet with a full 5/8" solid back.
This keeps everything square, rigid, and secure — giving you a cabinet that feels solid the moment it’s installed, and stays that way.

No Weak Joints — Ever
Many cabinets rely on dowels alone, with minimal adhesive holding them together.
Over time, these joints can loosen, separate, or fail completely.

Our cabinets are assembled using a three-step process:
✔ Glued
✔ Pinned
✔ Screwed
This creates a structure that doesn’t loosen, shift, or fall apart — even under heavy use.

Built to Handle Real Life (and Water)

Most cabinet toe kicks are made from particle board or built directly into the cabinet box (Integrated toe kick). They’re difficult to level and extremely vulnerable to water — even small spills can cause swelling and permanent damage.
We do things differently.
Our cabinets sit on a solid plywood kick base that is:
✔ Stronger
✔ Easier to level during install
✔ Resistant to moisture
And if it ever gets damaged, it can be replaced — without replacing your entire cabinet.

Countertops That Don’t Fail Over Time

Many standard laminate countertops use particle board cores with laminate surfaces. They’re prone to swelling, especially around seams — and corner joints often leave visible lines that degrade over time.
Our laminate countertops are custom-built in our shop using plywood cores for added strength and moisture resistance.
The result:
✔ Cleaner seams
✔ Stronger structure
✔ Longer lifespan

We also offer a wide variety of solid surface countertops, such as Granite, Quartz and Corian.
Doors That Can Handle Heat and Daily Use
Vinyl-wrapped doors are commonly used to save cost — but they’re known to peel, chip, and warp when exposed to heat from stoves, kettles, or small appliances.

We use:
✔ Painted MDF with high-grade commercial finishes
✔ Solid wood doors, stained and lacquered or painted
These materials are built to handle heat, moisture, and everyday use — without breaking down.

No Cheap Materials — Anywhere
Where others cut costs using lower-grade particle core products, we invest in premium materials throughout every cabinet we build.
Because the truth is:
Cheap materials don’t just save money — they shorten the life of your cabinets.
Built Once. Built Right.
Anyone can make cabinets look good on day one.
We build them to still look and perform years down the road.
If you’re investing in your home, your garage, or your business — you deserve cabinetry that’s built to last.
